Landscapes

Landscapes are a subject I’m always going back to, when I feel I have painted enough cats, sheep or cows I will feel a landscape coming on. I usually head for a port or nearby harbour and spend the day sketching and making quick watercolour studies and then work them up into full sized paintings back at my studio. The colours and setting may change as I get into the subject more deeply. It is always exciting to see what eventually ends up as the finished work.
